Detroit is the biggest city in Michigan and the principal city of the Southeast Michigan and Metro Detroit regions. It is also a major port city on the Detroit River. It is the only major city in the United States where Canada can be seen by looking to the south. Detroit is known as the world's leading automotive center and it is also, where Motown music was born. This city has a humid continental climate and this is influenced by its proximity to the Great Lakes. Summers are very warm and winters are cold and snowy. High dew points in the summer can make it feel hotter and brisk winds in the winter can make it feel colder. There are various neighborhood types. The revitalized New Center, Midtown, and Downtown areas are high density and have lots of historic buildings but further out Detroit suffers from vacancy issues although these are being worked on. Detroit offers casino resorts, museums, and live music as just some of the exciting options to tempt tourists.
The Detroit Wine Organization exists to share knowledge about wines and to promote the pleasure of wine. Membership is free and there are more than six thousand members, which meet up when the organization hosts fun and educational events. If you prefer to enjoy wine in the comfort of your own home, there are no shortage of Detroit wine cellar companies, who will advise you on how to build and install your own wine cellar. Even if you do not have a lot of free space, you can still get a small wine cellar with enough storage space to keep several bottles of wine.
